What you'll do:

  • Governance Operating Model Design & Implementation
  • Design 3-tier governance council structure (Tier 1: Quarterly GLT steering 
  •  Monthly domain-specific 
  • Operational working groups)
  • Develop council charters, decision rights matrices, and RACI frameworks
  • Define governance escalation procedures and issue resolution pathways
  • Document standard operating procedures for data governance processes across all domains
  • Establish governance meeting cadences and participation expectations
  • Data Stewardship Framework & Program Execution
  • Define stewardship roles and responsibilities: Data Owner, Data Steward, Data Champion, Quality Monitor
  • Design stewardship training curriculum and certification program 1. Create governance playbooks with step-by-step procedures and decision trees
  • Develop stewardship scorecards and performance metrics
  • Support execution of governance councils and stewardship enablement
  • Data Governance Policies & Standards Development
  • Translate business requirements into data governance framework components
  • Establish data governance policies for all domains: Cost Center, Location Code, Vendor, Revenue KPIs 1. Create data quality standards and governance procedures aligned with enterprise architecture
  • Define data ownership assignment and accountability models
  • Document governance workflows and approval processes in the SURF platform
  • Organizational Enablement & Change Management Support
  • Partner with Change Manager on stakeholder communication and organizational readiness
  • Design and deliver data owner and data champion training programs
  • Develop governance communications and executive briefing materials
  • Support adoption metrics and feedback loops
  • Facilitate alignment sessions with Finance & Strategy business leaders
  • Governance Documentation & Knowledge Transfer
  • Create comprehensive governance documentation: playbooks, policies, and procedures
  • Document lessons learned and governance framework refinements
  • Support knowledge transfer to internal governance teams
  • Develop governance reference guides and FAQ documentation
  • Create visual governance roadmaps and organizational structure diagrams
  • Stakeholder Alignment & Governance Activation
  • Support Data Owner assignment process across Finance & Strategy GLTs
  • Facilitate governance framework review and approval with leadership
  • Drive governance readiness and stakeholder commitment
  • Design and execute a governance adoption program — including onboarding journeys for new Data Owners and Champions, reinforcement touchpoints at 30/60/90 days, and ongoing engagement mechanisms that sustain participation beyond initial launch
  • Track adoption health through visible metrics: Data Champion activation rates, council attendance, scorecard usage, and issue resolution velocity — reporting progress to Anjali and escalating adoption blockers early
  • Support governance program status updates to executive sponsors Kevin McBride and Herve
  • Coordinate with DNA and DT teams on governance implementation dependencies

What You'll Bring:

  • 8+ years of experience in enterprise data governance program design and execution
  • Demonstrated expertise in establishing governance operating models and governance councils
  • Strong understanding of data stewardship frameworks and organizational change management
  • Experience developing data governance policies, standards, and procedures
  • Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills
  • Strong documentation and process design capabilities
  • Experience with large enterprise Finance or Strategy organizations
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally across technical and business teams.

This is the pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position: $71.51/hour - $95.35/ hour
