About The Role:
We are looking for a Senior SAP RAR Functional Consultant with a strong foundation in SAP Sales & Distribution (SD) and Order-to-Cash (OTC) processes. This is an IC3-level individual contributor role focused on implementing, configuring, and supporting SAP Revenue Accounting and Reporting (RAR) in alignment with ASC 606 / IFRS 15 revenue standards — approached from an SD/OTC lens rather than a Finance/FICO perspective.

The ideal candidate bridges the gap between Sales Order Management and compliant revenue recognition, bringing hands-on RAR configuration experience backed by deep SAP SD expertise. This role will support end-to-end OTC processes and ensure revenue recognition accuracy driven by sales order events, billing milestones, and contract modifications.

What you'll do:

• Own SAP RAR functional design and configuration for OTC-triggered revenue recognition scenarios including new sales, renewals, amendments, and cancellations
• Map SAP SD sales order events (order creation, delivery, billing) to RAR performance obligation fulfillment and revenue posting triggers
• Configure and maintain RAR components: Performance Obligations (POBs), Transaction Price Allocation (TPA), Revenue Schedules, and Contract Modification handling
• Collaborate with SAP SD and Billing teams to ensure revenue recognition rules align with order types, item categories, and billing plan configurations
• Support integration between SAP S/4HANA SD/OTC and the RAR engine; liaise with technical teams on BRFplus rules, source document mapping, and delta processing
• Lead unit testing, integration testing (SD-to-RAR flows), UAT, and production validation for RAR-related scenarios
• Perform defect analysis, root cause identification, and solutioning across the RAR landscape
• Translate complex revenue recognition requirements into functional RAR configurations in business-friendly language for non-finance stakeholders
• Provide advisory support during order management process changes that may impact revenue recognition outcomes
• Work within Agile delivery sprints, contributing to story grooming, sprint planning, and demo activities
• Experience working with integrated revenue ecosystems including CPQ, Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM), or Subscription platforms is a plus.

Required Skills: 

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
• SAP SD or SAP RAR certification is a plus
• Knowledge of Agile methodology is an added advantage
• 8+ years of SAP Functional / Business Analyst experience with at least 3+ years of hands-on SAP RAR configuration
• Proven ability to configure SAP RAR for OTC-driven revenue events: POB identification, SSP/TPA allocation, contract modifications, and deferred revenue handling
• Deep understanding of ASC 606 / IFRS 15 principles as applied through SAP RAR — from an OTC process perspective, not a Finance accounting perspective
• Experience with SAP RAR source document integration from SAP SD billing documents (VF01/VF04 flows into RAR)
• Hands-on experience with BRFplus for RAR rule configuration.
• Expert-level knowledge of SAP SD: Sales Order Management, Pricing, Delivery, and Billing (ECC 6.0 and/or S/4HANA)
• Strong understanding of OTC process flows — from quote/order creation through billing and cash application
• Experience with billing plans, milestone billing, contract management, and subscription-related order types
• Ability to trace revenue impact starting from sales order configuration (order types, item categories, schedule line categories)
• Familiarity with revenue-relevant SD configurations: account assignment groups, material revenue account determination, and customer-material info records.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to convey complex RAR/OTC flows clearly to business stakeholders, finance teams, and engineering teams
• Ability to independently own functional decisions and drive resolution without escalation
• Highly self-driven with strong attention to detail; able to multi-task in a fast-paced, self-managed environment
• Hands-on experience leading full-cycle SAP implementations and supporting production environments
• Experience in SaaS or subscription-based business models
• Exposure to SAP BRIM (Subscription Order Management, Convergent Invoicing, FI-CA) and how it interacts with RAR
• Familiarity with SAP Project System (PS) for project-based revenue recognition scenarios
• Experience with global rollouts or multi-entity implementations
• Integration experience with adjacent systems: SAP EMS, iCertis (contract management), or CPQ/Configure-Price-Quote tools
• Knowledge of Agile / SAFe delivery methodology
• SAP SD or SAP RAR certification

This is the pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position: $75.09/hour - $100.12/ hour
