About the Role:
Contract Hardware Engineer will have experience in hardware design and system integration, preferably in medical devices or similar industries and will develop and optimize hardware designs, including PCB layouts and electrical systems, using tools such as OrCAD, and PADS.
What You Will Do:
- Experience in hardware design and system integration, preferably in medical devices or similar industries.
- Develop and optimize hardware designs, including PCB layouts and electrical systems, using tools such as OrCAD, and PADS.
- Collaborate with mechanical and software teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware components.
- Address system-level challenges, including ESD, EMI, and EMC issues, and refine stepper motor algorithms for enhanced torque performance.
- Work on air sensor reliability, display functionality, and packaging design to meet FDA requirements
- Support risk reduction testing, pre-verification testing, and formal verification processes.
- Develop and validate test protocols, methods, and tools for hardware systems.
What You Will Need:
- Overall 7+ years of Hardware experience.
- Proficiency in ECAD tools (OrCAD, PADS) and simulation tools (HyperLynx, PSPICE).
- Experience in several of the following topics: low-power circuit design, DC/DC converters, power management methods, audio circuit design, high speed signals, and analog design
- Experience with microcontrollers, digital circuit design and various communications protocols such as I2C, UART, SPI, USB, MIPI, I2S, etc
- Strong knowledge of system integration challenges, including ESD, EMI, EMC,
- Experience in stepper motor control design
- Experience working with firmware/software teams to define and implement firmware, drivers and algorithms.
- Experience with requirements management tools like IBM RQM and DNGIQ.
- Familiarity with software development tools such as Jira, and Confluence.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
- Work closely with functional managers and external vendors to resolve technical bottlenecks.
- Prepare and maintain high-level documentation for design, testing, and system integration.
- Lab instruments like Multi- meters, Oscilloscope, Function Generator, Logic analyzer etc.
- Education: Bachelors or Masters.
This is the pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position: $45.00/hour - $60.00/hour
