About the Role:
Data Migration Engineer will interpret reports to suggest organization of data for optimum performance, security and usability and work with business managers to agree a final outline, ensuring compliance with the UMG Digital Media and other guidelines.

1. Technical Expertise in Data Migration Tools & Methods
Hands-on experience with tools like BitTitan, SkyKick, ShareGate, Google Workspace Migrate, Azure Data Factory, or custom ETL solutions.
Strong knowledge of scripting (Python, PowerShell, SQL) for automation, transformations, and validation.
Understanding of structured/unstructured data, APIs, and staging processes (SFTP, cloud storage, etc.).
2. Data Analysis & Validation Skills
Ability to profile, clean, and transform data to ensure accuracy and integrity during migrations.
Strong SQL/querying background to validate record counts, reconcile data sets, and troubleshoot discrepancies.
Familiarity with metadata, file structures, and mapping exercises.
3. Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting
Comfort with diagnosing failures in large-scale migrations (timeouts, corrupted files, schema mismatches, access/auth issues).
Quick thinker who can identify root causes and workarounds with minimal downtime.
Experience handling complex cutover strategies and rollback planning.
4. Project & Process Discipline
Experience working in structured migration projects (phased rollouts, blackout windows, checkpoints, reporting).
Ability to create repeatable, documented processes that scale across acquisitions and environments.
Attention to detail with strong documentation and reporting habits (validation reports, migration logs, dashboards).
5. Collaboration & Communication
Works well with cross-functional teams (IT, security, business owners, external vendors).
Ability to translate technical issues into business impact language for stakeholders.
Comfortable leading migration workshops, user acceptance testing, and post-migration support conversations.
This is the pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position: $53.57/hour - $71.43/hour
