About the Role

Airbnb is seeking a Communications Specialist, Trust, to support the team and tell the Airbnb trust and safety story across the country.

You must be comfortable supporting reactive and proactive communications with high-reach and visibility. You will be adept at working with journalists, handling and organizing media inquiries, developing and following processes, prioritization, and time management. You will also be comfortable working with cross-functional teams, which will include community support, community policy, public policy, legal, and more.

The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, engaged, and organized, and collaborates effectively across teams.

What You Will Do

• Support the Trust Communications team in trust and safety-related responses to press requests and news, and proactive communications campaigns
• Act as a point of contact for journalists on trust and safety-related press requests, utilizing relevant tools and working with teams to support Airbnb’s community and brand
• Identify opportunities to create and drive news, in support of communications goals
• Develop internal and external written materials: messaging, Q&As, briefings, reports, presentations, talking points, story pitches etc
• Provide organizational support to the team
• Partner with cross functional team members on initiatives that help protect the business and strengthen the company’s reputation

What You Will Need

• 3+ years of relevant experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, including in a communications capacity
• Experience working with members of the press
• Knowledge and experience in building and executing campaigns that drive favorable press and social attention
• Excellent communication and writing skills
• Sound judgment and discretion, with the ability to maintain confidentiality
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with follow through to get things done
• Ability to prioritize and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
• Proactive self-starter with a track record of taking initiative
• Positive, resilient mindset – eager to learn, improve, and develop and uphold best practices, while staying level-headed under pressure

This is the pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position: $29.53/hour - $39.37/hour
