About the Role

BizTech Content Products is responsible for delivering world class knowledge and content management platforms support employees and the Airbnb Community. Our team is striving to develop a knowledge culture, providing accurate, relevant knowledge through innovative technologies including Generative AI (GAI) and chat bots.

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Technical Writer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and enhancing documentation related to internal company processes, tools, and technologies. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, operations, and HR, to ensure that complex information is distilled into clear, concise, and accessible documentation. Your work will play a critical role in ensuring that employees across the organization have the resources they need to work efficiently and effectively.

What You Will Do

  • Create and maintain technical documents, including internal processes, system architecture, APIs, tools, and workflows.
  • Translate complex technical and procedural information into user-friendly guides and resources.
  • Develop FAQs, training materials, onboarding documentation, and internal wikis.
  • Work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs), including engineers, product managers, HR, and operations teams, to gather content requirements for migrating Confluence to RightAnswers.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to review, validate, and refine content.
  • Develop content taxonomies to apply meta data to new and existing content
  • Organize and categorize documentation to ensure easy access and discoverability using content taxonomies
  • Assist in all phases of the knowledge lifecycle - Manage version control and ensure that documentation is always up to date.
  • Troubleshoot with and guide stakeholders towards solutions addressing issues arising from any stage in the content lifecycle.
  • Audit existing documentation to identify gaps, redundancies, or outdated information.
  • Propose and implement improvements to streamline documentation workflows and enhance usability.
  • Advocate for best practices in documentation and knowledge-sharing across the organization.
  • Train employees on how to effectively navigate and contribute to internal documentation systems.

What You Will Need

  • 5+ years of experience in technical writing, UX writing, or information architecture—preferably for internal tools or processes with an attention to detail, creating accurate, customer-focused content.
  • Proven ability to turn complex technical or operational processes into clear, user-centered content
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and push forward in an ambiguous environment or with changing priorities
  • Strong analytical, organizational, exceptional listening, problem-solving, negotiation, and facilitation skills
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills across various formats
  • Experience designing scalable documentation frameworks and governance models
  • Understanding of metadata, content, and information architecture best practices
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise content management systems like Confluence, RightAnswers, or similar
  • Familiarity with headless CMS platforms including Contentstack preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with IT systems and processes preferred
  • Curious about artificial intelligence's role in evolving writing and knowledge management, and eager to apply new tools
  • Comfortable using tools like Miro, Slides to create diagrams, workflows, and visual guides
  • Experienced in working cross-functionally—partnering with subject matter experts and technologists to scale content
  • Collaborative and independent—thrives in cross-functional settings and fast-changing environments

 

This is the pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position: $66.96/hour - $89.29/hour
